Links for the DOS PLC2 software
Allen-Bradly 6200 PLC2 :

Allen-Bradley AI2 (ICOM-2)
http://rapidshare.com/files/446050876/AI_PLC2.rar

AI2 is imaged with the old DOS CopyQM software.
Imaged in blind mode with no conversion.
CopyQM will run in WinXp - XP will gripe about direct hardware access but will work.

Hello Mojo,
do you have 6200-PLC5/250?
the AB6200 above is only for AB PLC5.

Regards,

Ciwa

Thanks for your link.
I have PLC5/250 backup which contain .a52 .AC$ etc, tried to open with AB6200 but no luck. The AB6200 software above only known .X5 extension.
How to open this backup file?

Thanks

Thank you mailbkuk,

While i am installing, the PLC-3 software requires Offline and Online Master Disks for license. This can be skipped by attempting to read the wrong disk 3 times. it asks to skip. With no Activation, the software crashes while entering the programming screen. It requires Activation file to work.

Edit:
The RockMaster floppy disk has the Off3 and On3 activation required for this. This installed successful. I will attempt to communicate later. I downloaded the RockMaster disk from this website. Thank you to the author. Smile

The software works successfully.

Windows 7 Pro running Windows XP in virtual machine. Using a USB to serial converter.
I made my own cable for the PLC-2 instead of purchase the expensive options. It cost me around 25$ USD for parts. If you want details let me know.

Many Regards.

Hello,

I will post details of the PLC-2 custom cable I made to communicate to a computer.

I found on Ebay a "4 signal" rs-232 to rs-422 converter. B&B Electronics Tip 422CFCR

I made a custom cable for between the converter and the PLC-2. See Pin-out below.

You also need 12VDC power supply to provide power to this converter. Only a small wattage requirement. You will see this connection on the pin-out.

PLC-2 End of cable Male 15-Pin Dsub
B&B Electronics converter end, Female 25-pin Dsub

PLC-----------------------Converter
1--------------------------14
2--------------------------2
3--------------------------4
4--------------------------19
5--------------------------16
6--------------------------3
7--------------------------13
8--------------------------5
+12VDC------------------25
-12VDC-------------------12

The rs-232 to rs-422 converter is 25-pin to 25-pin. You will need to convert the rs-232 25-pin female of the converter to a female 9-pin Dsub for your serial port. I had this adapter already, so I did not need to buy one.
You can find these also on Ebay or Amazon websites.

Let me know if you have questions.

The project must be Imported in the ICOM AI-PLC2 software.

AI PLC2 project has the following file extensions...
ADR,CFG,DBK,DSC,LAD,PRF,RBL,RPD,RPI,SYM,XBK,XRF,XRI

This project has the following file extensions...
AVD,BAK,BKD,CDS,CFG,CNT,CRD,CTY,DAT,DEC,HDS,INF,IO,MDL,OUT,PRG,PTR,RAD, RDS,RFT,SAD,XRF

EDITED: File was able to be opened.

We got it figured out. You have to use the "Import" feature in PLC2 A.I software and select Import from ICOM software. Thank You.

Excellent.

It seems the program you have supplied is created using a much older version of the ICOM AI-PLC2 software. This is why there was difficulty opening the project in the latest version.

I found the options you have talked about. I checked this, it brings in the ladder logic as well as all the documentation.

To restore a project in the newest ICOM AI-PLC2 software follow these steps.

From the Main screen:
"F5 UTILITY OPTIONS",
"F5 PLC-2 IMPORT ROUTINES",
"F3 IMPORT FROM ICOM PLC-2 LADDER LOGISTICS REV 3.3X - 4.XX"

FYI, I created a Windows 98 virtual machine and have the Allen Bradley 6200 for PLC-2 loaded. I may not have the configuration quite right, as the software seems to lag and freeze often. I will tinker with it and post my progress here.

Thanks for the A-B PLC2 AI Series Ver 6.25 post mailbkuk. I downloaded this software installed it but I could not find any Master Disk activations. This prevent the software from being usable. Is there any chance you have an avtivation available or a way around needing the activation?

Thanks

You can search this site for AB master activation disk. It is where I originally found it. I can post one here if needed. It will be later today.

Rockmaster Activation disk found elsewhere on this website. Thank you to the author.

It contains bother PLC2 and PLC3 and PLC5 software activations. You will require to emulate this disk. It contains the EVMOVE utility from AB with all activations loaded into it.

Thanks thehumi. I did see this activation disk but did not realize this covered more than the PLC-3 software. Thanks so much for the clarification.

Can someone provide a successful way to restore the .IMA image back to the floppy disk making a new master disk? I tried to use WinImage versions 7.0, 8.5, and 9.0 on PCs running OS 95, XP & Window 7. On Windows 7 I got an error 5 code. On Windows XP I got a message that indicated my floppy drive did not support this compus and on 95 I got an error 10.

I had this problem sometimes... Do not convert the .IMA file.

Use VirtualFloopyDisk software to lucrate a virtual drive using the .IMA file as the disk.

Disregard. I got one of the old links to work for the AB6200. I just needed to click it a few more times.

Thank you for the heads up about the VM behavior, much appreciated.

Time to blow the dust off the dos laptop now.

I am curious, what application do you need to use a PLC2 for?

Wow... you still have a DOS laptop? it appears mine have stopped working long ago..

If you have a DOS laptop, do you have other old software you might share?

Does anyone have a small PLC-2 program that is documented they would be willing to post? I think I have the PLC-2 A.I. Series Ver 6.25 software installation working but would like a program that I can open to test the software installation.

Thanks

There is one posted on page one. You will need to use the import function as I describe a few posts down from it. It is called CSA_Quote.rar.
