How do you manage to maintain the WinCC client-server communication when a firewall is switched on?

By default, the firewall blocks the client and server from communicating with each other across subnet boundaries for security reasons.
Problem
The WinCC client-server communication between two PCs in Windows 7 or Windows 10 always works only as long as the firewall is switched off. Running through the Security Controller does not change the behavior.
If you open "Windows Firewall > Advanced Settings" in the Windows Control Panel and select one of the groups whose name starts with "SIMATIC..." ("SIMATIC Communication Services", for example) under " Inbound Rules", the entry "These IP addresses" is selected in the "Remote IP address" category in the "Scope" tab of the properties dialog for this group, and "Local subnet" is specified in the input field.

Solution
Starting with Windows 7, Windows Firewall is also equipped with rules for incoming connections. For security reasons, the firewalls are configured by default to require that the communication partner be on the same local subnet for SIMATIC connections.
To bypass this restriction, enter the IP addresses of the respective enabled communication partners for all PCs involved in the communication in the above dialog using "Add...".
Note
It is possible to export the IP address unlocked in this way and import it on another computer. This saves you having to make manual entries.

How do you delete the DCF file of your WinCC project?

The DCF file contains among other things server/client and redundancy information. You can delete this file to clear any possible inconsistencies in the file. As soon as you open the WinCC Explorer again the DCF is created anew.
Problem description
An inconsistent DCF file can have various different undesired effects on your project (for example: WinCC editors are no longer displayed or data connection to the server is not possible).
Solution
Proceed as follows to delete the DCF file:
Multi-user projects:
Close WinCC and save your project.
Open the WinCC Explorer.
Delete the generated/loaded server packages from the WinCC editor "Serverdata".
If you are using redundancy, open the Redundancy editor and disable the setting "Enable redundancy". Confirm with "OK".
Close the project and close the WinCC Explorer.
Then delete all the files with the file name extension "dcf" in your WinCC project directory. Also delete the older copies of the DCF file with the file name extension "dc*".
Open the WinCC Explorer again. The deleted files are created anew.
If you are using redundancy, open the Redundancy editor and enable the setting "Enable redundancy". Confirm with "OK".
Generate/load the server packages anew in the WinCC editor "Serverdata".
Configure the preferred server and standard server anew in the WinCC Explorer.
Close the project and close the WinCC Explorer.
Open the WinCC Explorer again and start the WinCC Runtime.
Single-station projects:
With single-station projects you omit Steps 3 / 9 and 10.
Integrated projects:
With integrated projects you make the changes on the Engineering Station. You have to execute Step 9 in the SIMATIC Manager. After making the changes you have to reload the server/clients.
Create the DCF file anew
How to confecționate a DCF file is described in the WinCC system manual in the chapter entitled "General Information about WinCC and Configuration" under the block title "Create a DCF File".

Hi! Do you have active link for WinCC Audit v7.5 SP2?
PS: I have tried downloading the PCS7 V9.0 and 9.1 but there isn't a WinCC Audit installation file. |

Isn't there a main file, e.g. SIMATIC_Audit_V75_SP2, that needs to be installed? |
