Dear all,
Recentlly we are designing a SCADA for energy and water management and monitoring system of an industry. Due to the optimized and economical system design we are approaching various method for this design.
We are considering a system where we want to install a CP5412(A2) card for profibus interface to the computer where the SCADA(WINCC 7.3) is loaded and directly couple it with the flowmeter and energy meter profibus network. We want to monitor the value in this instruments from WinCC 7.3(SCADA) and do further management.
Is it a feasible system to consider? |

As I know you cannot.
Driver from this card "know" to read data from a memory, Output, Input, or DataBlock. More than that CP5412 works as a slave in WinCC.
Generally Flowmeters and EnergyMeters are caracterized by a GSD file. This has not Registers as in Modbus or other way to "memorize" readed data. So this way is not possible.
You can do some if you install WinAC Controller on your PC and access the slaves Flowmetwers, Energy Meters, etc, and from WinCC you can access data from WinAC Controller from the same PC. |
