Hello.
If I want to communicate by Ethernet with another computer using WinLC, the manual says that I should first define the access point in the set pc/pg interface. There should be 9 access points: WinLC_0, WinLC_1 ..., but I don't have any of them! Any ideas why?
The installation is WinAC RTX 2010 on Windows XP SP 2. |

Kaltrex,
Even if your question is pretty unclear I'll try to clear some things:
You can access the other computers with WinLC installed in two ways:
1.Configured mode
in this mode, all parameters of the module are specified in the defined configuration of the automation project and transferred to the module.
If you use this mode, you can use all the protocols available with SIMATIC NET as well as the OPC Server with the module.
2.PG operation
In this mode, the network-related parameters of the module such as the station address and transmission rate are set using the "Set PG/PC Interface" configuration tool. This configuration is possible only locally on the computer itself.
If you select this mode, PG functions (for example, SIMATIC STEP 7) can be used with the module. Communication functions requiring a configuration as defined in a project or OPC operation are then not possible.
(This option has serious problems...you have to use this option if you want to access every computer independently not in a network where you can "see" all computers. The first method has the advantage being as an ES(Engineering Station) in PCS7....)
So you have to follow the next steps:
a)-Go to every computer where you have installed WinLC and define the access points using SIMATIC NET Configuration Console..
b)-On your Laptop you have to have the Step7 projects for other computers..and in project add a Simatic PC Station with the name of your computer and in HWConfig add modules IE for communication and the application correspondent with applications on your remote computers..
c) Open Station Configurator on your Laptop and put IE, the correspondent application with which you want to communicate to remote computers and go online....
(Remember this image is only for example. Here you have to see your PC Station Configured for accessing the network..
d)-In that case if all steps are made correctly you have to "see" the remote computers access points and ...to communicate......
I presumed you are familiarized with doing correctly these steps... |
