This application example serves as a guide for implementing the assignment of variable F communication IDs (DP_DP_IDs). These IDs are required by the F communication blocks "SENDDP" and "RCVDP" for fail-safe data exchange between several F-CPUs and can be assigned variably from STEP 7 Safety V15.1 and changed during runtime.
There are two applications for this:

Multiple commissioning with only one project
Several F-CPUs (I‑devices) can be put into operation with only one project.
The advantages:

Variable assignment of the DP_DP_ID during commissioning
A project for engineering, commissioning and maintenance

Acceptance always takes place with the same overall F signature

Variable communication at runtime
Variable F communication IDs can be assigned to I‑devices during runtime.
The advantages:

Variable logon and logoff at different higher-level F-CPUs (IO controllers)

A project for engineering, commissioning and maintenance

Acceptance always takes place with the same overall F signature

In this application example, mainly the second application case will be considered, which has been integrated into an example of driverless transport systems.
