| Hello, in our company, we have legal Tia Portal V13 in one PG. We need higher version so we dont know if we should buy it (legally!) and if upgrade is cheaper than new license and how to do it. Then if for example we will buy V16 is it valid for V14 and V15? Thank you |

| I dont know, we need Tia Portal V15 surely. It's confusing for me expressions Step7 and Tia Portal. I know they are 2 different programs, Step7 older one. So I dont know what is the cheapest way. I heard we need both items Step7 and WinCC V15. But as I mentioned before it is confusing for me we need Tia Portal V15. And Im not sure if we would need other versions. |

Various versions of TIA can coexist on the same PC/PG (example v13, v14, v15 and v16).
By upgrade you can upgrade the version (from v15 to v15.1).
If, on the other hand, you need to change the version, from v13 to v16, you must acquire a new product from Siemenes or its reseller.
The new product is supplied with a single license for use.
Alternatively, you can purchase a license-free program package (TRIAL for example 6AV2102-0AA06-0AA7) and then purchase desired licenses later. |

There is not upgrade from v13 to v16. You need the final license for Startdrive V16 so this is ok.
