With WinCC (TIA Portal) V13, how do you transfer a configuration without a direct data connection to a PC with WinCC Runtime Advanced/Professional?
If there is no data connection between two computers with WinCC (TIA Portal) ES Advanced/Professional or RT Advanced/Professional, the transfer can still be made in WinCC (TIA Portal) V13 by using a removable medium.
Normally you need a data connection (Ethernet or the like) to transfer a WinCC (TIA Portal) configuration to an operator panel. With WinCC V13 you can also transfer a project offline to a computer with WinCC RT using a removable medium (USB stick or the like).
Procedure with WinCC Professional
1. In the Project View of the TIA Portal you mark the HMI project that you want to transfer to the PC with WinCC Runtime.
2. In the menu of the TIA Portal you select the command "Online > Save the device settings in the file system" (V13), or "Online > Load in file system" (V13 SP1 and higher).
In the dialog that opens for the configuration you select a storage path to a connected removable medium like a USB stick.
The project is compiled if necessary and stored in the directory.
3. Connect the removal medium to the PC on which you wish to execute the configuration. Copy the complete directory with the configuration to the hard disk of the computer.
Note
It is not possible to start the configuration directly from the removable medium.
4. Start the "WinCC RT Start" tool on the target computer. Under "Project:" you select the transferred configuration.
5. Then click the Start icon in the dialog to start the Runtime.
Procedure with WinCC Advanced
1. Compile your project so that it is up to date.
2. Copy the file "pdata.fwc" from the subdirectory "...\IM\HMI\{...}\Generates" to a removable storage medium and from there to a storage location of your choice on your target computer.
Note
The directory name with braces "{...}" is project-specific.
3. Open the "Start Center" on the target computer. (The tool is located in the Start menu under "All Programs -> Siemens Automation -> Runtime Systems -> WinCC Runtime Advanced -> WinCC Runtime Loader".)
4. Select "Settings" in the Start dialog.
5.For "Configuration path" you enter the directory (not the file name!) in which you have stored the configuration file and confirm with "OK".
6. Click the "Start" button to start the Runtime with the selected configuration. |
