Torque Calibration with DCB Extension

Using the application example, users can precisely generate the torque setpoint at to the motor shaft. After successful calibration, the torque actual value at the shaft can be calculated without requiring an installed measuring shaft.
Overview
Due to the application example, it is possible to generate the torque setpoint at to the motor shaft precisely. For this purpose the drive system must be calibrated. An external torque measuring shaft has to be installed between the "slave" motor to be calibrated and the driving "master" motor. After successful calibration, two functionalities are available. On the one hand, the torque setpoints of the converter are adapted based on internal algorithms, so that a torque is also physically output at the shaft. On the other hand the the torque actual value at the shaft can be calculated without requiring an installed measuring shaft.
Principle of operation
At first, a step sequence is being executed which will approach 1600 torque setpoints. With the help of a torque measuring shaft, the torque actual values are measured and then will be saved in the program. The data points of the calibration can be adjusted freely. The external torque measuring shaft is installed between the "slave" motor to be calibrated and the driving "master" motor. Natural operation can be enabled once the calibration sequence has been completed. In this mode, the torque setpoints of the converter are adapted based on internal algorithms, so that a torque is also physically output at the shaft that tracks the setpoint with a high degree of precision. Based on the calibration, the real torque actual values at the shaft can be calculated, even if the measuring shaft has already been removed.
