Styleguide Checker
Functions:
With the help of the following rules, programming guidelines can be created for PLC tags, blocks, block interface and UDTs.
Name length: Minimum / maximum number of characters for an object name
Name contains: (Not) Permissible characters in the object name
Prefix/suffix: (Not) Allowed characters at the beginning/end of an object name
Casing: Selection between pascal, camel and upper casing
Block/tag properties (check as to whether a block comment exists, for example)
Within a TIA project, the check for observance of the rules can be started by the user.
The results of this check are output in the TIA Portal. Using the GoTo function, the location with the rule violation is opened.

The application example provides you with a rule set for checking the Styleguide with TIA Portal Test Suite Advanced. A demo project shows you how the Styleguide check works.
For some rules and recommendations listed in the "Programming Styleguide" (Programming Guidelines and Programming Styleguide for SIMATIC S7-1200 and S7-1500), a rule set was created and exported as an XML file. You will find the XML file as a download in the entry. You can import the rules defined in the rule set into your TIA Portal project and check your project for violations of the "Programming Styleguide".
