In STEP 7 (TIA Portal), how do you store a sequence of modules for the S7-1500 in a library in order to be able to use the same arrangement for other projects?

Save the modules in exactly the same order in a master copy and save the master copy in a global library. You can then use these modules in exactly the same order in other stations.
Description
In this video we show you how to store a module order in a library for the S7-1500, so that you can then use the same arrangement for other device configurations.
In the example below, a number of input and output modules, communication modules and a counter module are configured for a CPU 1516-3 PN/DP.

Instructions
Open your global library.
Disable write protection.
To select multiple modules, hold down the Shift key and select the desired modules in order from right to left. Start with the module that is configured in the last slot. In this example, these would be the modules in slots 11 to 2.
Right-click and in the pop-up menu you select "Copy".
Right-click on "Master copies" and select the "Paste as a single master copy" function from the context menu.
Adjust the name of the copy template according to your needs. In this case, the name "Drive HW" was assigned.
Save the global library.
Open the Device View of your project or station into which you want to insert the module arrangement. In this example the station has been configured with a CPU 1511-1 PN.
Drag-and-drop the master copy from the global library to slot 2 of the device configuration. The order of the modules is then taken from your master copy.
Save and compile the configuration.
You can then also use the library with the assembly sequence across projects. |
