Configuring Technology Objects with SIMATIC S7 1500 and SINAMICS S210 in TIA-Portal

In TIA Portal it is possible to control a SINAMICS S210 drive in a TIA Portal program and to operate it using Motion Control instructions.
SIMATIC S7-1500 CPUs support the connection of drives as speed axis, positioning axis or synchronous axis via PROFINET, PROFIBUS or via an analog drive connection. In TIA Portal it is possible to control a SINAMICS S210 drive in a TIA Portal program and to operate it using Motion Control instructions.

In this application example, two “SINAMICS S210” will be used. The first one will act as position-controlled drive and will serve as master axis for the second drive configured with gear synchronization.

Two ways of configuring the SINAMICS S210 are described in this application example:

via SINAMICS Startdrive ≥V15.1
via GSDML file
