I had a system with Windows XP incl. SP3 where I installed Step7 Professional V5.5 SP2.
I like this version of Step7 as soon I saw. But when I try to get online with SW took a lot of time (almost 30 sec every time I try to connect). I tried many things to understand what is wrong in my configuration, but everything looks well. I struggle to work like this a while and finally I gave up and make again the system with Step7 v5.4 which was working better when I go online.
But I like more v5.5, I would like to know if somebody meet this problem and solve somehow.
I meet a person who told me that he had a same configuration and same problem and finally he done like me coming back to Step7 v5.4 because didn't found the problem.
Thanks |

Hello NeeK,
To better understand your problem let me know:
1. You try to connect with a PG to a real CPU. What CPU are you trying to connect to .. and what connection (adapter) do you use? |

Hello rott,
I try to connect from my PC to CPU trough one Ethernet card and an Siemens Scalance X204-2.
In that project (now I'm an another project) was a redundant system with 2 real CPU's on rack:
- CPU 414-4H 414-4HM14-0AB0 v4.5.2
- CP 443-1 443-1EX11-0XE0 v2.7
They use also several Siemens Scalance X204-2 for Ethernet network.
The PG/PC interface was configured on TCP/IP with a static address.
There was one personal router for commissioning and I tried also with dynamic address assigned and was running in same way.
In that time my colleagues had Step7 v5.4 in their PC's and work well in connection with CPU.
As soon I come back in my same PC, with same WinXP incl. SP3 system but with Step7 v5.4 and same settings for PG/PC interface, same address everything goes well!!!!
Thanks. |

Thanks rott for the answer.
I hope there the problem was as you say the Scalance switches.
They continue to use Step7 v5.4 in order do not have problems.
But if I try to use in future the Step7 v5.5 again I will have the same problem because perhaps old versions of CP443-1??? Usually I'm not working often with Scalance switches in my projects but with CP443-1 I work continue.
Which is the first version of CP443-1 which accepts and have communication without problem with Step7 v5.5?
Also new Simatic NET drivers are not full compatible with old versions?
Working with Step7 v5.5 I have to check all the time the versions of CP443-1!!! It's looking strange for conception. |
