Solve 'graphic is used in different resolutions' in TIA Portal
Whenever encounter this please follow..
What is the meaning of the warning "The '...' graphic is used in different resolutions. ..." when compiling a WinCC (TIA Portal) project?

When compiling WinCC (TIA Portal) projects with inserted bitmap graphics, you might get the warning "The '...' graphic is used in different resolutions. This may lead to pixelation on the HMI device.". This FAQ response describes the reason for this warning and its remedy.

With WinCC (TIA Portal) projects you occasionally get the following warning when bitmap graphics are used in configured screens:

"Pixelation" means a coarsening of the displayed graphics compared to the original.

Cause
The warning is issued when a graphic from a graphics collection is configured multiple times in graphic displays or graphic IO fields with different dimensions in each case.

Remedy when using graphic displays
Proceed as follows to avoid the warning when using graphic displays:

1. Mark the graphic display in which the graphic is displayed.
2. Right-click to open the pop-up menu and select the "Edit graphic" item.

3. In the dialog that opens you select the option "Edit graphic. Other points of use will not be modified."

4. The graphics editor MS Paint opens. Use it to make the required changes and save the graphic. Then close the graphics editor. No other action is necessary. Use the Export Graphics Tool for editing the graphics with a different graphics editor.

5. In this way you have created a new copy of the graphic whose resolution corresponds to the display in the graphic display.
Repeat the procedure for all the points of use of the graphic concerned.

Remedy when using bitmaps in graphic IO fields
When using bitmaps in graphic IO fields, all the output fields are based on the same instance of the autentic graphic in the graphic list used. This is why the above-mentioned procedure is not successful.
1. Therefore, for each graphic IO field in which an error occurs, you create a copy of the graphic list used.

2. Assign one of the copied graphic lists to each graphic IO field so that each list is used by only one IO field.

3. Switch to the Table View of the graphic lists. Mark the graphic used and execute the steps as given above in "Remedy when using graphic displays".

Note
The warning is new in WinCC (TIA Portal). Therefore, after migration of WinCC flexible projects the warning might appear again after the first compilation in WinCC (TIA Portal

Export Graphics Tool:
For exporting graphics from WinCC (TIA Portal) to a local directory as the original file type
The "Export Graphics Tool" exports all graphics from your WinCC (TIA Portal) configuration to a directory of your choice (the original file type and properties such as transparency are retained).

Use the "Export Graphics Tool" to export your graphics into a lokal folder on your PC.

After reworking graphics, they can be quickly updated in the graphics library of TIA Portal using drag and drop.
