Hi Team, in the module drop down box to create a chassis of the Softlogix 5800 V20, l only have the 5800 controller, I/O 32 point card and the the Ethernet module. Im unable to see the analoge or scanner cards. This is the downloaded version from this site. It says its the 16 card chassis and the L60 controller. Do l have to download these other cards from somewhere or is it that lm on a 64 bit Win7
The same cards seen to be missing in the Emulate version as well. Also is the difference between the softlogix and emulate that the softlogix can be used over a network and no other advantage?.Thanks in advance for any assistance..

Hope your doin well, i'm facing some troubles with softlogix V20 activation and i sow in previous posts tht you faced the same problem that i'm facing now, could you please help me with the right method of activation for this software.
I will really appreciate it.

raflab, the Softlogix does not have any analogue cards and the servo drive is an option that is not available with this software.
Apart from that it works, although l have not done much training on it. In IMO you are better off with the PLCLOGIX software(do a search, it is all there) which you can do all the RSLogix 5000 programming and have a HMI to visualise. |

Many thanks for the quick reply
my intent is to use softlogix as a soft-controller to test Logic and interface it with remote I/O through physical communication card (Ethernet/IP PC standard card,1784-PCICS card for ControlNet or 1784-PCIDS card for DeviceNet).
Can PLCLOGIX software that you mention can simulate the communication ? |

Raflab, l don't know if it would workin PLCLOGIX, but would suggest it wouldn't be able to connect to your hardware.
It sounds like you want to connect/check really components not just test code, so you would need an AB product l would think. |

In fact we don't have the real hardware, we want to simulate the communication side of the project in order to perform a exhaustiv demonstration.
That's why we want to use softlogix as it's the AB utility that can simulate the ETHERNET/IP PC standard card. |
