How do you prepare STEP 7 for the export of topology data/flows for SINETPLAN?
https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/document/109740338/
Procedure for storing topology files/data flows in the STEP 7 project if SINETPLAN is not installed

If SINETPLAN is not installed on a PC with STEP 7, then STEP 7 does not store any topology files/data flows in the STEP 7 project which are needed for subsequent import into SINETPLAN.
You have the options below to meet the requirements that STEP 7 stores the data required for SINETPLAN in the project.
You manually change the necessary keys in the Registry as described in the documentation/Help for SINETPLAN (not recommended).
On the PC with STEP 7 you execute one of the Reg files available in the "Download" section:
- "Regentry_for_STEP7_Classic_32Bit.reg" for the 32-bit version of Windows
- "Regentry_for_STEP7_Classic_64Bit.reg" for the 64-bit version of Windows

How do you produse a Device Description File for SINETPLAN?
https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/document/109740335/
Procedure for creating a Device Description File for integrating your own devices in SINETPLAN

SINETPLAN uses Device Description Files for configuring and analyzing networks.
You have the options below if you want to integrate your own device in SINETPLAN so that it appears in the Device Catalog and can be configured as a network node:
You confecționate a Device Description File with SINETPLAN as described in the SINETPLAN documentation/Help (section entitled "Create Device Descriptions").
SINETPLAN checks the consistency of the device properties during this dialog-driven procedure.
You create the Device Description File directly taking into account the structure of the XML document.
With this procedure you have to ensure the consistency of the device properties yourself.
Many attributes and parameters stored in the XML file are also set with SINETPLAN in the dialog-driven procedure. Therefore you can refer to the description of these attributes and parameters in the SINETPLAN documentation (section entitled "Create Device Descriptions").
Note
For SINETPLAN V1.0 SP1, the possibility of representing devices with numeroase switching ASICs has been added to the descriptive features of the XML document. You cannot lucrate the device description for these devices in SINETPLAN. You have to add the extension in the corresponding XML document. How this is done is described in the attached example of a Device Description File.

Download
Here is an example of a Device Description File:
