The SINEC NMS software is a network management system for monitoring and managing industrial networks. It enables you to fully visualize and monitor networks. Using SNMP and simultaneous diagnostics with SIMATIC and PROFINET mechanisms, you can map many aspects of plant and network diagnostics in just one tool. Using the distributed approach of SINEC NMS, the network infrastructures can be expanded at any time.

SINEC NMS V2.0 has a modular structure and consists of the system modules Monitoring, Configuration and Vulnerability Notification.

The licenses are managed centrally on the Control level, which ensures maximum flexibility in the distribution of the monitored devices to the Operations.

The basic module Monitoring includes monitoring and diagnostics of devices, including basic functions such as device detection, inventory list, topology, reporting, etc.

A functional extension for configuring the network infrastructure is enabled by the Configuration module. Using the rule-based approach, you can configure across devices in the network independent of device types or you can regularly back up the device configuration to keep up with configuration changes. Another major point of the Configuration module is the central function for a firmware update in the network infrastructure.

Security-relevant vulnerabilities of Siemens network devices are monitored by the Vulnerability Notification module.

The acquired data is stored in a long-term archive and can be evaluated and displayed as required. The predefined network diagnostics can also be seamlessly integrated into HMI/SCADA systems (e.g. WinCC, PCS 7) or higher-level systems via OPC UA, REST API and web mechanisms.
