Communication with SINAMICS via MODBUS interface

The application example describes two different versions of MODBUS communication. MODBUS RTU is used for serial data transmission and MODBUS TCP in Ethernet based networks. The first example describes the commissioning of the SINAMICS G120 CU230P-HVAC with MODBUS RTU. The second example describes the configuration of MODBUS TCP on the SINAMICS S120.

MODBUS TCP
Since SINAMICS firmware version 4.8 the communication protocol Modbus TCP is supported by S120, G130 and G150. The application example describes the communication settings from a SINAMICS S120.
