SINAMICS V90 PN: How to realize “travel to fixed stop” application
https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/document/109747886/
The function of "Travel to fixed stop" can be used to move a motor to a fixed stop at a specified torque without a fault being signaled. When the stop is reached, the specified torque is built up and remains applied.

|

How should you configure the encoder settings in the TO (Technology Object) for the SINAMICS V90 PN?
https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/document/109747183/
In STEP 7 (TIA Portal) V14 and higher it is possible to take the encoder parameters automatically from the drive. The four following requirements must be fulfilled for this:
The S7-1500 CPU must have at least firmware V2.0.
You have to configure the technology object "TO_PositioningAxis" version V3.0 or higher.
In the "Encoder data exchange" dialog you have to enable the option "Automatic transfer of encoder parameter values".
The SINAMICS V90 PN devices must support the automatic transfer of drive data.
The following encoder types are used in conjunction with the SINAMICS V90 PN in STEP 7 (TIA Portal):
Incremental encoder with TTL (Transistor Transistor Logic) interface and 2500 increments per revolution
Multi-turn absolute value encoder with 20-bit resolution, 12-bit revolution resolution and BiSS interface
Single-turn absolute value encoder with 21-bit resolution and BiSS interface
To input the encoder parameters you open the configuration of the positioning axis. You then navigate in the area navigation to the dialog "Hardware interface > Encoder data exchange".
If you do not use the option "Automatic transfer of encoder parameter values" or are still working with STEP 7 (TIA Portal V13), you enter the the following encoder parameter values for the corresponding encoder type.
Incremental encoder with TTL (Transistor Transistor Logic) interface and 2500 increments per revolution
Increments per revolution: 2500
Fine resolution: Bits in Gx_XIST1: 2
Fig. 1
Multi-turn absolute value encoder with 20-bit resolution, 12-bit revolution resolution and BiSS interface
Increments per revolution: 512
Number of revolutions: 4096
Bits in Gx_XIST1: 11
Bits in Gx_XIST2: 9
Fig. 2
Single-turn absolute value encoder with 21-bit resolution and BiSS interface
Increments per revolution: 1024
Number of revolutions: 1
Bits in Gx_XIST1: 11
Bits in Gx_XIST2: 9
Use STEP 7 (TIA Portal) V14 SP1 |

How do you use the technology object of a SIMATIC S7-1200/1500 axis with a linear motor or hydraulic cylinder?
https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/document/109747153/
The Axis technology object of a SIMATIC S7-1200 / S7-1500 does not provide the option of directly specifying the data of a linear motor or of a hydraulic cylinder.
In order nevertheless to be able to operate these drives you have to change the parameterization of the technology object. You can calculate the parameters to be entered using the HTML that you can download on this page.
Unpack the Zip file and then execute the HTML file contained in it.
Depending on the browser you are using you might have to confirm the execution of active content.
You might have to change the zoom in the browser to show the two columns:
