The Technology Extension "Control for Segmented Linear Motors" (RAILCTRL, Rail Control) is an extension for the SINAMICS S120 drive object SERVO. It is used to control segment transitions of carriers when moving continuously over several linear motors (linear motor distance).
The Technology Extension RAILCTRL

is a prerequisite for the operation of the Multi-Carrier-Systems (MCS). Multi-carrier systems are linear motor transport systems which are -for example- used in packaging machines and assembly applications.
