Hello everyone,
I was asking about how can i control torque direction using 4Q SINAMICS DC Master drive with standard CUD "6RA80" to change it from Torque direction M| to M|| any help please ??

What type of speed control are you using ... closed-loop speed control or open-loop speed control..???
Anyway ..if you are using closed-loop speed control the torque will be set automatically...
And as a rule...torque is in the inner loop of a regulating system and will change depends on the load and the settings of the superior loop.... |

hey rott
I'm working on two SINAMICS DCM drives controlling two DC motors rigidly coupled so i'm implementing the master slave switchover application so at first i'm working closed loop speed control from the master then after switching i should be working closed loop torque control from slave but the torque i need in my application is resistive torque not driving one so i need to control torque setpoint for torque direction M||
anyway i only need now to control change of torque direction manually and my drive only give me options to choose between either closed loop speed control or closed loop torque/current control how can i apply this application using this and if it is a must to work as open loop control to be able to make it how can i make it open loop control

There are some gaps in your explanations and I really can't help you from these data...
Attention to the settings .. when you are working with rigid couplings of two motors in open loops ....because it could appears some dangerous situations and destroy motors ....or the SINAMICS rectifier...
If you could upload your project maybe we could discuss more concrete... |

It seems that the above link is not appropriate for the admin.
What I want to ask is that in fact you want a dinamic brake something like Ward Leonard machine. You want to apply a rezistive dynamic torque at one moment...so in that moment the second motor became in fact a generator..?
Am I right? |

Here is the application with a Closed-loop control application for a
Ward-Leonard block...
The existent motor can be used as generator with dynamic brake variable torque...the torque being controlled with the field current on generator.

The ward Leonard application is soo close to what i'm up for here but it is not the same let me get you to the application deeper
Application Overview
Test Stands and Dynamometers are used to test and characterize rotating equipment. An engine Load
dynamometer (often called Absorber or Load Dyne) typically uses an electric motor and DC drive to simulate a mechanical load on gasoline and diesel engines. Endurance testing requires that the engine be run under load continuously for days, weeks or months to determine component life and establish preventive maintenance schedules or to ‘break-in’ a new or re-built engine.
Application Details:
Figure 1. illustrates the basic components of an engine dynamometer:
1. Engine under test
2. The dyne motor
3. Dyne motor control with Sinamics DCM 6ra8090
The operation begins with the dyne motor control in speed mode and ramps the motor up to the starting speed of the engine. Fuel is applied to the engine. When the engine is running on its own, the dyne motor control switches to torque control mode. Actual testing begins as the regenerative (braking) unit and DC drive regulates load on the engine.

thanks rott your thinking came along with mine i was thinking about applying the field reversal in order to control torque direction anyway i will try it in site and i'll tell you about the results when i'm done again and again thanks for your support =)
