The answer is YES but take into account:
A. You must act as administrator or be a memeber of user groups "Siemens TIA Engineer" and "Network Configuration Operators"
If you are not the administrator being a user ask rights assigned to you by the administrator.
To do that as Admin follow the steps below:
Open the Control Panel in Windows and select "User Accounts".
In the navigation window, select the entry "Manage User Accounts."
In the "Advanced" tab, select the "Advanced" entry in the "Advanced User Management" section.
In the navigation window, select the entry "Local Users and Groups > Users". All users are displayed in the data window.
Using the context menu, open the "New User" and create an account with the same login for every user that needs to access STEP 7.
Select the "Properties" context menu command for each user you create.
In the dialog box that opens, select the "Member of" and the click the "Add..." button.
In the "Select Groups" dialog, enter the user group "Siemens TIA Engineer" in the "Enter the object names to select" box and confirm with "OK".
Follow the same procedure for the users to be included in the "Network Configuration Operators" user group.
B. Create an empty project and Upload stations to a newly created, empty project.
Stations that are dependent on other stations in a particular way (I slave on a DP master station, receiver and sender in a configuration with direct data exchange/lateral communication link) should always be uploaded together to one project. Reason: Without the particular "partners" for a station of this type, the project would remain inconsistent.
C. Uploading a Network Configuration
The PG/PC is connected to the same subnet as the stations you want to upload or the stations are accessible via network gateways. The node addresses and racks/slots of the modules connected to the subnet are known.
Procedure
Connect the programming device to the subnet to which the node you want to load is connected.
Create a new project for the loaded network configuration if necessary.
Open NetPro via a project to which you want to save the uploaded network configuration at a later stage (for example, via a newly created project).
Select the menu command PLC > Upload Station.
The menu command can be selected only when a project is open.
In the following dialog box, specify the station to be uploaded by giving its node address and rack/slot.
The "Station" object appears in the network view with all modules that have a network connection. The subnets to which the station is connected are also displayed. You can change the name of the station assigned by the system using the menu command Edit > Object Properties.
The configured connections are also uploaded and are visible when you select a module that is the end point of connections.
You can modify the station configuration or the connections as well and then load the changes into the station. For connections that were created using optional packages, the optional package must be installed so that these connections can be edited and loaded into the station again.
Proceed as described above until you have loaded all the required stations.
If required, you can save the network configuration in the current project (menu command Network > Save or Network > Save and Compile).
Special Features of Connections Uploaded to the Programming Device
In the connection table, the connection partner configured offline is missing - the connection partner is "unspecified." However, address details are available in the dialog box that follows the properties dialog box.
The communication direction of PTP connections cannot be determined by STEP 7 in every case; but a message informs you of which communication directions are likely.
If both connection partners are uploaded to the programming device (PG), STEP 7 will then attempt to restore the connections between these partners.
Unspecified S7 H-connections cannot be uploaded to the programming device.
E. You can upload the user program from the CPU to the programming device and edit it there, for example, for troubleshooting purposes. In this case you do not have access to symbols or comments for program documentation.
Therefore this procedure is used only for service purposes.
You can download back to the CPU and test. |
