The SIMATIC RF360M and SIMATIC RF660M handheld terminals, each consisting of a SIMATIC RF160B base station and a header module, enable mobile reading and writing of SIMATIC RF200/300/600 transponders.
In the production area of an enterprise, the SIMATIC RF360M or SIMATIC RF660M handheld terminal needs to read the item information (UID (HF) or EPC-ID + payload (UHF)) stored on a transponder, then integrate that information to the automation level.

This application example covers the following functionalities:
Acquire RFID data with the SIMATIC RF360M or SIMATIC RF660M handheld terminal
Send RFID data to a SIMATIC S7-1500 CPU.
The mobile applications "TCP HF Transfer Example" and "TCP UHF Transfer Example" will be used to read the RFID data and send them to the S7 controller. The "ComRF160B" FB in the S7 controller receives the RFID data.
The SIMATIC RF360M and SIMATIC RF660M handheld terminals also have an Ethernet interface and a WLAN interface in addition to the USB interface. It is via these interfaces that RFID data, read by the handheld terminals, will be synchronized with the S7 controller.
