The SIMATIC PCS 7 Kalman Configurator V9.0 is used for configuring a soft sensor that is implemented as an extended Kalman filter in SIMATIC PCS 7 with the help of the PCS 7 Advanced Process Library V9.0 (APL) "KalFilt" function block.
With the Kalman Configurator, you design the Kalman filter in the form of a function (FC) that contains the parameters and model information of the filter. The process model required for the filter as well as the associated measurement data must be provided to the configurator.
Based on the tip and measurement data, model parameters and suitable settings for the filter can be identified and the behavior of the filter can be validated based on simulations.
