When operating a modularly structured plant, the integration of process units from different manufacturers often involves a great deal of effort and problems, especially due to different communication protocols and interfaces.

Standardization is the key to open and flexible automation and plant concepts. This is where MTP comes into play. Module Type Package (MTP) is a formal description of the interfaces and functions of the automation technology of a modular process unit. MTP is standardized in the VDI/VDE/NAMUR 2658 directive and enables manufacturer-independent integration of process units into a higher process control level. Using your own dynamic visual objects and function blocks, which are not a part of the LCFL and PFL libraries. By means of the "MTP Creator Custom", which is a part of the product, you can export these elements of your own library to MTP Standard conformant elements. For this, use SIMATIC MTP Creator Customizing V3.1.0.1, which currently only supports VDI / VDE / NAMUR 2658 Part 2 and 3. In addition, the add-in enables you to make configuration settings of the MTP export by means of the "ProjectConfig.yaml" file. This file contains the following areas:
