The concept and the application examples for the standardized efficiency evaluation of machines according to VDMA34179 or ISO14955 allow an evaluation of the energy efficiency of machines (all media).
The concept is designed with 2 steps: An evaluation at or in the machine itself (with the S7 Energy Efficiency Monitor) or, on a higher level, for the user's factory with the Energy Manager PRO.

The system description "Efficiency evaluation of machines according VDMA 34179, ISO 14955" represents the general concept in an easy-understandable way and shows the benefits by way of example or gives an overview of the components to be used. This document is particularly intended for planners or operators of Machines and responsible energy managers.
The application examples for the several target systems of the S7 EE-Monitor are addressed to Machine builder, who wants to facilitate the integration into his machine by providing of ready-to-use HMI visualizations.
As a machine manufacturer, you face the challenge of having to assess your machine with respect to its efficiency.

You are required to specify the media consumption (water, gas, electricity) for each produced unit of the production machine. Since a production machine works in different modes (e.g. standby, operational, working), it is more complicated to detect and record efficiency compared to a household appliance, for example.

Applications
The new function 'S7 EE monitor for machines' is specifically aimed at mechanical engineers and makes it possible to equip machines with functions for energy transparency and thus rounds off the functionality of the Energy Suite on the machine as well.
The functions can be integrated in every SIMATIC S7-1200 as well as S7-1500 controller from firmware version V4.2 / V2.1.
The plant operator has an eye on the energy requirements both during the procurement stage and during the plant life cycle.

The S7 energy efficiency monitor offers you the following functions:
- Calculate the energy performance indicators of your machine (according to the measuring instruction VDMA 34179)
- Visualize the files on an HMI device (SIMATIC TP900 Comfort, SIMATIC WinCC Professional or SIMATIC WinCC Unified Runtime)
- Fabricate an energy efficiency log in Excel (according to ISO 50001)
- Connect to cross-machine systems, such as WinCC or Energy Manager PRO
- Visualization of your machine availability

HMI visualization
This application example gives you an HMI visualization for the S7 energy efficiency monitor. The visualization is projected for a WinCC V7.5 SP1 (SCADA) and in another project for SIMATIC Panels (9" and 12").

For the HMI visualization on a PC runtime with WinCC Professional V18 or WinCC Unified V18, documentation with a sample project and a common library is also available for download.

Through faceplates a easy and fast implementation is guaranteed by using the TIA Portal libary. Further information can be found in the following sections depending on your software.

Visualization of the S7 Energy Efficiency Monitor for WinCC OA
This section describes the energy efficiency monitoring for WinCC OA. The energy efficiency monitor graphically displays data of the various states of the respective measuring points. For WinCC OA two versions of the energy efficiency monitoring are provided.

On the one hand the version which is started as WinCC OA Panel
and on the other hand the Dashboard version.
The dashboard version does not have the full configuration options and must therefore always be used in combination with the panel version. The exact differences between the two versions will be discussed in a later chapter.
