What is the difference between the PC Adapter and the TS Adapter?

The PC Adapters and TS Adapters differ with respect to their firmware, and in the way they are parameterized:

The MPI / DP / PPI interface for the PC Adapter is parameterized directly in the STEP 7 software using the Set PG / PC interface ... function.
The MPI / DP / PPI interface of the TS Adapter is parameterized from the TeleService software via the extras> Parameterize adapter function . Unlike with the PC Adapter, the parameters are stored directly in the TS Adapter.

TS Adapter II
You can parameterize the TS Adapter II for both modem and direct connection.
Modem connection: The TS Adapter II permits a component running on a PC (eg, STEP 7) to access automation components (S7 and C7) on to an MPI / DP / PPI bus via the telephone network. You need the TeleService application to set up a remote connection.
Direct connection: With a direct connection, the TS Adapter II permits data exchange between the PG / PC and to S7 / C7 via the Universal Serial Bus (USB). In the case of a direct connection, the TS Adapter II functions like a PC Adapter USB.
TeleService V6.0 to parameise the TS Adapter II. You can also use previous versions to set up a remote connection and, if necessary, log on to the TS Adapter II.

TS Adapter IE
The TS Adapter IE adapter has the following functions:
Teleservicing via the telephone network: Applications running on a PG / PC, eg STEP 7, S7 and C7 are connected to the Industrial Ethernet.
For this, the TS Adapter IE requires
A connection to the automation components via the Industrial Ethernet,
A modem connection to the PG / PC.
Sending e-mails from a SIMATIC CPU via the TS Adapter IE. For this the TS Adapter IE sets up an outgoing modem connection to a dial-up server, for example to Internet Service Providers, and sends the e-mails via a mail server that is available ther

Which cables can you use for connecting the PC and the TS adapter?
https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/document/8039852/which-cables-can-yConnecting the PC Adapter to the RS232 interface
Use the plug-in connecting cable (zero modem cable) between the PC's COM port and the PC Adapter. The cable must comply with the defined standard RS232 cable (MLFB 6ES7 901-1BF00-0XA0). The pin assignment of the standard RS232 cable is given in the figure below (the assignment is identical on both sides).ou-use-for-connecting-the-pc-and-the-ts-adapter-?dti=0&lc=en-WW

Connecting the PC Adapter to the USB interface
The USB PC Adapter creates an isolation between its MPI/DP interface and a USB interface within a safety extra-low voltage circuit. The power supply comes from the automation system via the MPI cable supplied. You must connect only the cable supplied (UL cable, AWM 2464, 0.3mm with 9-pin Sub D connectors) to the automation system. It is not permitted to use a different cable for the connection or an external supply of 24V DC to Pins 2 and 7.
