Hallo,
When I want to install Simatic WinCC Professional V12 of Simatic Step7 Professional V12 on my virtual machine, I got the next message:
msi file initialization failed error_install_failure
My virtual machine is running with VMware player 5.
But the compatibility list of Siemens describes, it is released with VMware Player 4. This version is supported and tested by Siemens. The helpdesk of Siemens said that VMware player 5 is not supported.
I also made a temperary local drive for the Siemens installating files. But this doesn't resolve the problem.
Could the message "msi file initialization failed error_install_failure" caused by the version of VMware player 5?
How can I install the program correctly? |

On what OS did you install VMWare ?
Download the latest .NET Framework 4.0 and 4.5 and install and check if your VMPlayer package is not corrupt...
Maybe should work..but if not... then install on your autentic OS. |
