Hello. I have a Siemens 1214C CPU, and Iīm studying robotics here in Spain. Well, since Iīm in the beginings, I investigate by my own a few things, and I canīt find the answer.

I will like to connect a Scada running on my PC, a Runtime or something like that to my CPU and try to execute orders, like activate an input byte, just a simple task...like activate a motor , but I want to see the process in my Scada sceen.

I am able to do this with WinCC Flexible 2008 and simulating a 314C CPU, but I donīt know how to do it with Tia portal V11 and WinCC V11 professional.

Any help?

Hello dani_val,
My advice is to download Tia Portal V12 and do the same as in V11.
If you've been already work with WinCC Flexible then it is relatively easier to work with v11, v12,,
What you have to do is to insert in the project a PCStation with WinCCBasic v11, 12 or ...WinCCAdvanced... and the process of creating screens and objects is the same as in WinCCFlexible....
Indeed is a little bit more difficult to work with the Step7 versions v11,v12 because there are a lot of information concentrated on a simple GUI but this is the evolution..!!!!!????
Please follow the examples on the Siemens Topics because you can learn a lot of stuff from these projects...

Finaly I was able to make the connection. But is a little more difficult to work with Tia Portal V12 that working in WinCC Flexible. And Tia Portal I think is still crappy. It stops all the time, crashes and give me a lot of errors.

dani_val,
as I explained somewhere in the forum a product is declared mature after 3-4 years. So do not expect to work smoothly from the first shot.
Why do you think SIEMENS offers for downloading...it's for testing ....
However I did not observe such behavior.....stopping all the times and so on, etc, etc, ...
..see if you have not problems with your computer..
I also installed this version and works well...at least not the behavior you explained...
It's true it's a little bit difficult to work with Ste7 V12 instead with v5.5, ...the GUI in V12 is very dense..needs two or three monitors and a generous RAM memory (see readme) to work correctly....
For learning it is easier to work with older versions..Step7 5.5 SP2 and WinCC 7.0 SP2, SP3, or PCS7 V7.1 SP3, SP4, V8.0 upd1....
...because once you learned correctly from older versions is easier to manage the v12...
good luck.

Of course, you are right, thatīs what Iīm thinking about. Learning well with the older versions like Step 7 5.5 and WinCC Flexible 2008 SP3 and later try to port the knowledge to Tia Portal v11 or v12.
But in my university, we have started with Tia Portal and 1200. Iīm learning Step 7 by my own. Itīs a long trip but....
