A safety-related value should be set via a non-safe source (HMI or PLC web server) and should also be available in the F program after the F-CPU has been restarted. Due to the non-secure connection between HMI or web server and F-CPU, data corruption could result in an unwanted value being transferred to the F-CPU, which could result in dangerous situations in the machine.

Additional measures are necessary for the transmission and retentive storage of safety-related values.
This application example shows how safety-related values (of type Bool, Integer, Doubleinteger, Time) are transferred from a non-secure source (HMI/website) to the safety program of an F-CPU and stored there retentively.
