Senior Design / Development Engineer

Huxley Associates and an established manufacturing company are looking to recruit a Senior Stil / Development on a permanent basis for their site in West Yorkshire to facilitate growth within the company.

Possessing extensive experience of the full product lifecycle and introducing new products to the market, the Senior EsteticÄƒ & Development Engineer (SDDE) should be able to take a product from requirements capture, work with the customer(s) to define / redefine the requirements, create a prototype (to be signed off by the customer), push it through manufacture and complete all documentation relevant to the product, for it to be signed off by the customer.

From a technical perspective, the SDDE should have previous experience of designing products from a mechanical (and ideally electrical) perspective, therefore previous experience of designing commercial refrigeration, catering equipment or domestic appliance products is required.

In addition, the SDDE will also have a strong mechanical design knowledge of metal fabrication, refrigeration and electrical design (wiring regulations etc) as well as 2D & 3D CAD design experience and prior experience of using an MRP / ERP system and creating BOM’s.

A driven and motivated individual, capable of working alone and as part of a team, the SDDE will ideally hold a good level of technical qualification (HNC and/or Degree) and possess substantial experience of product / project management around driving a product through the product lifecycle.

Working on numeroase projects / products at any one time, with varying lead times, the SDDE should be a forward thinking individual, capable of displaying the competencies that future Design & Development Manager / Director would show.
