Hello,

Is there a way to gradually change analog output 0-10V (0-24mA) by two one-shots (push buttons). One push button should start the process, the other one should end it.
I've been advised to try ramp function, to use timers, encoder and god knows what else - but I need universal block which should work as regulated analog source controlled by two push buttons. Any idea how to arrange this if it is possible at all?

Take a look on this
How do you program the overlapping of tags with the keyword "AT" in the STEP 7 (TIA Portal)?

How in STEP 7 (TIA Portal) do you access the unstructured data types bit-by-bit, byte-by-byte or word-by-word and symbolically?

Thanks, but you didn't answer is it possible to make such a block or not. Simens's tech support didn't have a solution for this matter. I am a new bee, that is why I am asking in such a manner.

It's quite simple
Take a look at this example project

Thanks but I overlooked a time factor in my description, so I made necessary update to this request:

It should be a general purpose block which should simply work as regulated voltage/current source controlled by two one shots (pushbuttons).

The first one shot should generate chosen voltage/current output which will be gradually reduced to some chosen value in chosen period of time, and then switched off by the second one shot (sorry, I wasn't clear enough about one shots previously, timer has to be included in order to define in which period this gradual output change has to be arranged). I suppose that some kind of PID function could manage this, if so, please recommend it (example of such solution is preferable if there is), please.

Is it possible to make a block which should be used to gradually regulate analog output (0-10V or 4-24mA)generated by S7-1200 PLC with analog module?
Regulation process should be started/stopped by two pushbuttons, one should initiate the process, the other should stop it.
Min and max values of an analog signal should be freely defined.
I suppose that timer should be involved, its role should be to define a time period in which regulation process should run.
In short, I would like to define end values of analog signal to be generated, and a time period in which the regulation process should run.

I think I was clear, I would like to know is it possible to use S7-1200 CPU with analog output as gradually changing voltage/current source.
There should be possibility to:
- chose analog output range (max and min values of it, let's say 10-0V, or 24-4mA
- time period in which output change should happened.
- process of regulation should be initiated and completed with 2 pushbuttons, one to initiate the process, the other to complete it.

Example:
- declared max value 10V
- declared min value 0V
- time period in which voltage should be gradually changed from 10-0V - 5 seconds

I did understand you, it is not necessary to use a PID instruction, because you should be changing the parameters for the speed of the ramp.
I suggest you use a counter from 0 to 100 and increase it with the frequency/time you want, the value from 0 to 100 will have to be moved to your analog output scaling
