|
|
Hi Guys,
I need to back up (transfer) the parameters from an S5 IP266 positioning module. I have a copy of the COM266 software (although it is in German language), however when I try to connect/go online I get error F53 (no communication)! I am using the standard cable that works ok for the CPU!
Is there a different cable I need ?

There are two types of S5 programming cable.
1. One draws power from the programming port,
2.The second needs a separate power supply.
The power is needed to drive the RS-232 to current-loop converter electronics.
The CPU has a pin which supplies power to the programming cable.
Many of the I/O modules do not and IP 266 don't make exception.
Or make yourself one (see picture) which works or buy one adapter with independent source for loop.
Do not make the connection in RED otherwise have problems.
Good luck. |

Thanks Keke, I have a current loop unit from a Toshiba PLC project, I'll try to adapt it or build the circuit you provided.
Cheers |
