| Ok so in my windows 7 vm typing in addresses is delayed and slow for some reason. I can go to an address and hit enter and I get a second or two delay where the box is white? A friend has the same setup and does not have this issue. Also i have a 32 bit Windows 7 machine and a Windows 10 vm that work just find and typing addresses is normal. Has anyone else had this problem or know what it could be with this particular virtual machine that causes the delay? I have uninstalled and reinstalled numeroase times and tried different versions with the same result. |

Hi dhullett,
I have only had this issue with RSLogix 5000 but it is due to a lack of ram on my laptop when running two VMs and doing things on my host OS as well.
Can you give us more information on your system specs and what your settings are for you VM. Also what version of RSLogix500 are you using?
Cheers. |

| I'm running a 2015 MacBook pro with 16 gigs of ram with a parallels virtual machine windows 7 64 bit. the virtual machine has 4 GB of ram and it doesn't matter if I run just this vm and nothing else it is slow. Also I have tried versions 8.4 , 9.0 and 9.05 of rslogix 500. RSLogix 5000 works normally and so does all other software just 500 that has this keyboard delay. My coworker has an identical VM and it works normally and my windows 10 and windows 7 32 bit I tried just for testing work normally. |

I have no experience with Mac so I am flying blind here. That being said I have had serious issues with x64 VMs so none of my VMs are 64bit anymore.
Is your coworker also using a Mac? |

yes he is using the întocmai same setup. Like I said my windows 10 pro VM doesn't have this problem either. What issues have you had with 64bit VM's?
I may delete my two 64bit installations and just install all my software in a windows 7 32 bit that I already have. I guess I really don't need the 64 bit system running VM's |

| So theres been some oracle software that i have never been able to run in my 64 bit vm that i never thought about trying in a 32 bit VM because it will run in a native windows 7 64 bit install on our hp laptops no problem but it installed and ran in my 32 bit perfectly so im just redoing my Rockwell VM in a 32 bit install. It looks like this is going to take care of any issues i was having. |

| just out of curiosity what issues have 64 bit VM's caused for you? Also after installing more software the rslogix 500 started the slow keyboard input on the 32 bit VM as well so i started backtracking to see what caused it. I uninstalled microsoft office 2010 professional and it started working fast again. So i reinstalled office but i did a custom install and in the options for what to install i opted to not install the office visual basic tools and programming tools and now it works as it should. It something with the office visual basic options i believe but i only use outlook for my email so i dont think i will ever need any of these option anywayse. |

| I tried to get windows 7 pro x64 to work on a vm but it kept on crashing so I eventually gave up on it and stuck with x86. It is possible that with only being able to allocat 2GB ram to the VM was causing the problems but I didn't have time to figure it out. |

| yeah could be. I was giving 6gb ram to my windows 7 pro x64 virtual machine and 4 processor cores. Im now giving 3.5gb ram to my x86 virtual machine and 2 processor cores and i think its actually faster. And everything works on a 32 bit system from my experience. |
