Hi,
I am gonna use Rslinx classic 3.9 to copy DDE/OPC tags' link from CompactLogix CPU to Excel through Ethernet/IP but It does not show any of them in Copy DDE/OPC link window. The window is empty with the title of:
RSLinx OPC Server (Node:<Local>)\MyPLC\Online
I have configured DDE/OPC as:
Station (decimal): 49
Remote: Remote ControlNet [/img] |

Where can I find Rockwell Automation OPC client sample code ?
How can I get FactoryTalk Gateway to read data into Microsoft Excel?
Answer
Rockwell Automation OPC client sample code can be found in two different products : RSLinx Classic Gateway and FactoryTalk Gateway software.
RSLinx Classic Gateway Software
When RSLinx Gateway software (not RSLinx Classic Lite or OEM software) is installed, there is OPC client sample code copied to the following location:
64 bit OS: C:\Program Files (x86)\Rockwell Software\RSLinx\Samples
32 bit OS: C:\Program Files\Rockwell Software\RSLinx\Samples
FactoryTalk Gateway Software
In the FactoryTalk Gateway software install files, the OPC sample code can be found in the following location:
<path>\Install\FTGatewaySampleClients
The OPC samples from RSLinx Classic Gateway 3.60 software and FactoryTalk Gateway 3.51 software are attached to this document:
Note:
FactoryTalk Gateway 3.60 software does not contain the latest version of the samples.
Sample code will work without the need to be re-compiled. If modified and recompiled, there will be warnings.
There is no sample code for Java based applications.
