Remote access to SIMATIC HMI Panels
Whether for the purpose of servicing or evaluating the production data, working on site increases travel times and most of all travel expenses. To keep these as low as possible, the SIMATIC HMI panels offer the option of remote maintenance and remote operation. The “Sm@rtServiceMonitor” tool provides additional security.
Apart from the actual “remote” access, the described solutions are also suitable for large, spatially separated plants, or for efficient commissioning.

Sm@rtServer
An operator panel configured as Sm@rtServer makes its user interface available to the Sm@rtClients. This document contains information on using the Sm@rtServerand the Sm@rtServiceMonitor tool. This tool reads the current Sm@rtClient connection and forwards it to HMI Runtime for further processing. This enables monitoring the remote access and the user can interrupt it on site if necessary.
