Configuring a single and redundant XF204BA DNA Y switch with an S7-1500H
https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/document/109816704/
The redundant S7 1500H system features high reliability and plant availability. By supporting PROFINET system redundancy R1, you can set up the redundant system S7-1500H in different variants.
As of firmware version V3.0 and TIA Portal V18, the redundant S7-1500H system also supports PROFINET R1 system redundancy. In addition, H CPUs no longer have to be a part of a PROFINET ring (also known as an MRP ring) or an MRP domain. New topology variants are possible because of this, such as a linear topology, mixed topology, or a configuration with no additional devices.

The new features let you construct the redundant S7-1500H system in differing variants.
This application example will consider the following three scenarios:
Setting up an S7-1500H with R1 devices and a Y switch in a linear topology
Setting up an S7-1500H with R1 devices in a ring topology and a Y switch with a lower-level linear topology
Setting up an S7-1500H with R1 devices and Y switches with DNA redundancy in a ring topology

All three scenarios will focus on the following three points:
Explanations of the structure (theory)
Indications that must be followed during configuration
A treatment of the switchover/failure behavior in case of a failure of a controller, IO device or network
The third scenario is discussed in more detail by means of practical commissioning and step-by-step instructions for configuration in TIA Portal. It is structured as follows:
