I have an excellent opportunity that has just become available. My aviation client is looking for a Project Manager coming from a background working in development and qualification.

My client is looking to recruit an experienced Project Manager to take a lead on a number of high technology programmes. Within this role, you will take responsibility for leading a multi-disciplined team through the design, development and certification stages for flight critical mechanical aerospace actuation equipment.

Your role will focus on delivering the business objectives for the development programme which means you’ll have multi-functional influence and regular contact with our high profile customers. You will be instrumental in identifying programme risks and developing mitigation plans, managing the technical process and resolving technical issues. You’ll also have responsibility for the cost and schedule of the development programme and will sit on the Review Board working with the Programme Managers to maintain development plans and schedule.

To be successful, you’ll come from a development background and have a solid understanding of actuation systems including verification and test. You’ll enjoy the challenge of this diverse role and feel confident working with technical experts. In addition to be a track record in meeting non-recurring and stil to cost targets within a single development programme, you will need to be confident in driving a multi-disciplined team. As you will need to translate complex concepts and issues to a non-technical audience, experience in development of actuators would be highly desirable.

The successful Project Manager will have the following experience:
Development engineering experience, ideally working with actuators
Confidence with leading a multi-disciplined team
Proven ability to manage non-recurring and design costs
A relevant degree or equivalent, would be beneficial
