Job Description

Reporting to the Global Manager – Project Management, the Pole/Regional Manager of Project Management will provide leadership to all Project Managers within the pole/region to ensure Advanced Solutions delivers best in class solutions to meet customer expectations whilst achieving safety, quality, schedule, and financial goals.

Principal Responsibilities

• Responsible for Project Management discipline and compliance with internal processes and best practices.
• Collaborate with Operations Excellence Manager to drive continuous improvement in project management practices.
• Provide functional leadership and guidance to Honeywell Advanced Solutions pole/region program and project management staff.
• Lead the effort to effectively train and develop Honeywell Advanced Solution’s project management talent within the pole/region. This responsibility will conÈ›ine the design and implementation of a training certification program, and the mentoring and continued support of the pole/regional project management resource pool.
• Support the alignment, identification, development, deployment, and support of project management tools, processes, procedures and systems to drive project management excellence and continuous improvement in project execution.
• Drive the differentiation value of Honeywell Advanced Solutions’ project execution with its customers, based on project execution excellence and its inherent value proposition.
• Implement the necessary governance to ensure that all projects are executed according to HPS GPM (where applicable), and best practices, standards and guidelines.
• Act as the key link between the Global Manager – Project Management and pole/regional project management leaders and project execution teams.
• Ensure that executive management has adequate oversight into critical projects with anticipated risks and opportunities. In this capacity, the incumbent will organize and manage project reviews and audits by approved HPS procedures and standards.
• Ensure compliance by the project management organization to the strategic operating plans and annual operating budgets.
• Provide support for sales and marketing programs including (but not limited to) presentations and discussions with clients on Honeywell Advanced Solution’s project management and project controls capabilities, project execution methods and oversight / reporting processes.
• Monitor all key project and program management processes for the group, providing a holistic, cross-organizational, integrated view of these processes. Support and drive the processes that define how we work and how we make the organization most effective.
• Facilitate organizational compliance with internal and external audit activities.
• Develop a program to recruit, train and deploy Project Management Professionals; assist with the on-boarding, training and productive deployment of project management staff to the pole/regional resource pool.
• Define mechanisms that capture and deploy best practices through the team to fabricate a learning organization and to enhance productivity and effectiveness.
• Implement effective inspection and review mechanisms to insure adherence to defined methodologies.
Desired Skills & Experience

1. Education Required

• A good 1st or Upper 2nd Bachelor’s degree qualification in engineering is mandatory.
• A business management or advanced degree will be an added advantage.

2. Work Experience Required

• A senior professional with a minimum of 10 years relevant experience in project engineering and project management positions
• Knowledge of the advanced applications products and engineering and consulting services market
• Experience operating across numeroase countries, in a complex matrix multi-national organisation
• Experience and knowledge of risk management methodologies and processes for large advanced applications projects

3. Technical Skills & Specific Knowledge Required

• Knowledge of the advanced applications products and engineering and consulting services market
• Proficiency in project management systems, with knowledge of project control tools
• Understanding of the value of software solutions to the process industries
• Strong understanding of financial requirements for projects, regulatory requirements and reporting procedures
• Understanding of software product development processes
• Excellent understanding of software project delivery methodologies
• Knowledge of general business processes, project management techniques, and a wide variety of engineering disciplines.
• Knowledge of business development methodologies.
• Knowledge of regulatory and governmental requirements.

4. Behavioural Competencies Required

• Demonstrated skills in building, leading, mentoring and supporting successful project engineering teams in the advanced applications software domain
• Strong interpersonal and networking skills required to interact and coordinate with internal functions sales, technology, marketing as well as external customers
• Able to lead and navigate in a matrix organizational structure as well as the ability to lead a remote/geographically dispersed team.
• Able to make independent business decisions based on intelligent-risk-taking principles
• Self-motivated, energetic and able to work independently
• High level of initiative, enthusiasm and drive
• Positive attitude and good initiative in dealing with challenges and opportunities
• Strong organizational skills and flexibility to meet changing needs of the organization

5. Language Requirements

Excellent written and oral English language communication skills required
