Other computer connection
You must have RSLinx Pro or Gateway to use OPC with RS Linx. If the OPC client is on a remote or different PC than the RSLinx OPC Server, than they must have RS Linx Gateway version installed. This is a licensing requirement by Rockwell.
Local connection
1. Open the Properties of the Data Collector Fluidsim.
2. Go to the Extended Properties tab.
3. Set the "Connect In-Process" property to True. Click OK.
Or Fluidsim Interface for OPC DA, causes the interface to treat all OPC Servers as remote connections even if "/SERVER=LocalHost::OPCServerName" is specified. The RSLinx OPCServer is one of the OPC Servers that does not allow remote connections, which is why the error "CoCreateInstanceEx: 80040112 Class is not licensed for use" is seen. Note this will happen with any OPC Server that does not allow remote connections.
Try to manually add the two leading colon characters before the OPC Server name. For example, set the /SERVER argument to this:
/SERVER=::OPCServerName
This can be done by editing the .BAT file or by adding the additional parameter in the Fluidsim Interface Configuration and removing the entry from the OPCInt > OPC Server tab. |
