What pre-requisite software is necessary for the RSLogix 5000 V20.00 software installation files?
In order for the RSLogix 5000 V20 software to install and function properly, all of the pre-requisite software packages must install successfully first.
RSLogix 5000 V20.00 Software Pre-Requisites
Microsoft .NET Framework V4.0
InstallShield Installation Engine v10.50.0.125
MSXML V4.20.9818
Windows Installer V3.1.4000.2435 if Windows XP (may require a reboot)
Adobe Acrobat Reader V10.0.1
Adobe Flash Player v11.0
Windows Firewall Configuration Utility v1.00.06
FactoryTalk Activation Manager v3.50 (CPR9 SR 5)
FactoryTalk Diagnostics v2.50 (CPR9 SR 5) English
RSLinx Classic v2.59.00 (CPR9 SR 5)
FactoryTalk Services Platform v2.50 (CPR9 SR 5) optional see depending upon the specific software flagged and how the FactoryTalk Services Platform is utilized, the end user must determine whether the update will impact the current installation.
The user typically selects NO in order to retain the previous FactoryTalk Services Platform.
There is an issue with the RSLogix 5000 v20 software web download. It's installer is actually updating the RSLinx Classic Main Components. After selecting NO the FactoryTalk Services Platform 2.50.00 (CPR9 SR 5) ends up getting installed.
Users not desiring FactoryTalk Services Platform 2.50.00 (CPR9 SR 5) may need to remove it afterwards.
