Pluto Safety PLC: The New Concept that simplifies the Stil of Safety Systems
Pluto is an "All-Master" safety PLC concept, which simplifies the estetică of safety systems and achieves the highest safety category 4 according to EN 954-1. All Pluto's are Master units and can see the other Pluto's inputs, outputs and global memories. This enables the Pluto to evaluate the information from the other Pluto's and it can then take decisions concerning its own safety. Gateway units are available for several different bus systems, i.e. Profibus, CanOpen and Devicenet. Of Pluto´s inputs (the smallest unit has 16 I/O), several inputs can be configured as both inputs and outputs. In the Pluto family most modules have dual safety outputs - potential free or PNP. In a two-wire bus system up to 32 Pluto units can safely be connected and communicate with a superior system via a Gateway or via HMI displays. In a maximum extended system 1472 I/O's can be connected. On all inputs components may be connected in series for even more complexity and optimization.
Why should I choose Pluto?
Simple programming
Easy to configure and install
Up to 640 I/O
Highest safety level
Free software
Programming over the bus
Training and support
Cost effective safety solutions

Hello, i need some help and hope i can find answers here. I trying to find information about Pluto safety PLC safety outputs expansion. Let's say i have Pluto S46 safety PLC and BT51 expansion module. In Pluto hardware manual 2TLC172001M0211_A op page 36 is shown example of output expansion with BT51. Module BT51 is connected over relay type safety output to 24VDC. About this kind of connections on pages 35,36 is written: "The example connections can be used where the highest safety integrity level is not required and the risk for short circuits is low or can be excluded e.g. inside a control cabinet.". So in other words this kind of connection is not suitable for application with high safety integrity level because of possible short circuit to BT51 pin A1. In same manual on page 36 is shown short circuit protected connections for applications with very high demands on safety integrity level. (Category 4). And on page 37 is given example with BT51 relay where BT51 is connected to negative supply (A2 to 0 VDC A1 to transistor -24VDC output.). And there is written "the connection between the Pluto output and the safety relay is failsafe against short circuit from foreign +24V". And nothing written about safety level or application examples. So me questions is: did polarized connection shown in example 4 on page 37 gives same safety level like example 3 on page 36?
Sorry for my English. Thank You. |
