I have a PLC TSX17 telemecanique with EEprom It was OFF for several years
the Battery was lost .I have changed the Batt but now the PLC is not RUN
RUN and Mem lights are blinking. According the manual The PLC should be memory initialize . I have installed TL7 software (DOS) I cannot find how I can initilize the memory
please help me!!!!

The EEPROM cartridge has a micro switch on it.
The micro switch needs to be in the Master (left most) position.
With the switch in this position the controller will load from the EEPROM on power up.

I changed it to Work position and power On again but RUN and MEM lights were
bliknking again power off and changed it to Master position but it did not run
according to manual it should be memory initialized
do you know what I should do?

Big delay in this reply:

Once you have entered the PL7-1 program and proper cable is connected:

Push F1 Key to change to ONLINE mode.
In the lower left, it should say "S FAULT". This is the PLC status STOP Mode and FAULT (Because of no program)

We reload the PLC active memory from the EEPROM backup chip.
Choose "Option 3 - Transfer"
Choose "Option 2 - Read / Write / Compare"
Choose "Option 0 - Read Backup ---> TSX"
It will say "Working" in red at the bottom. it is reading the EEPROM backup chip into active memory.

If there is a message like "TSX Has Refused" this means the EEPROM chip does not match the întocmai PLC it is in. The Program on it is for a different Part# of PLC.

If you do not receive a message, click END key button on keyboard, This brings you back to the main screen.

On the main screen it will now say "S LINE" at the bottom left. This says the PLC is ONLINE (No Faults) with the PC and in STOP mode.

Click F6 "RUN PG" to change the PLC mode to RUN mode. It should now say R LINE" in the lower left. This means the PLC is in RUN Mode, and ONLINE with the PC

With a new battery, this should be all that is needed.

Hello,

i have also a TSX17. The Buffer Battery was empty. My EEPROM Cartridge has no Switch to load SW to the RAM. So i think the only way to do this is by Software Tool.The Downloadcable RS232-RS485 is no problem, i found some schematics but i need the DOS Software PL7-2.

Can anyone help me with the software? That would be supranatural :-)

Thank you for the links. I installed Pl707_v4 on a virtual DOS machine. But is this SW also compatible with TSX17-20?

The PL72 SW is only for OS/2 right?

Brummi82,

The PL7-2 software package I sent you is meant for the DOS operating system.
The TSX17-20 is possibly using PL7-1 or PL7-2 depending on the age of the program. I have found most will use the PL7-2 software.

Make sure to install the User Interface first.

Hello,

now i can start the PL7-2 Software. I have connected a RS232-RS485 converter If i try to click an "Read" on "Progammer" there is no respponse from TSX17.

I checked the communication with my oscilloscope and i can see some bytes are sending from COM1 (i think some init data for starting communication??) but no response from TSX17.

What should i do first in the SW to transfer data from EPROM to RAM?

Brunni82,

You need to first be able to communicate to the TSX17. Make sure you can get ONLINE with the plc. it will say "S LINE" in the bottom of the screen. This means the PLC is in STOP mode, but the software is active ONLINE with the plc.
