hi can any one help me? i'm stuck on on question to complete my assignment on plc's and finding it hard to understand what they are asking for. the question is.

Describe why it is necessary to employ protocols for the transfer of data between devices.

(ii) Describe, with the aid of diagrams, the main characteristics of the RS232 and RS485 protocols.

(iii) Describe three different Network Management Techniques outlining how they manage data flow on a network.
