This is an exhilarating role, covering the UK and working for an instrumentation manufacturer that provides industrial product and systems automation installation, service and commissioning support to a variety of industrial process and manufacturing facilities.

This role is home based, but you will be expected to attend the office in the East Midlands maybe 10-15% of your time. Interviews will also be held at their office in the east Midlands too. With that in mind, Midlands based would be the best location for you to live as geographically, you would be in a better positon to service The UK.

Only for the dedicated engineer who enjoys travel within the UK with the very occasional stop over!

The successful Engineer will be responsible for maintaining relationships with customers both existing and potential. Whilst assisting in improving quality procedures for the delivery process, the success Engineer will comply with quality standards and provide technical engineering assistance on site when required by the customer. Site work will amount to about 80% of your time over the UK.

Will you be their next PLC Commissioning Engineer?

You must be experienced in programming and fault-finding on process controls & automation systems (mainly Siemens PLC S7, but others PLC experienced will be considered too)

You will also need to have experience with related communication protocols (i.e. modbus, profibus etc)

You will need to be flexible and able to drive performance within the engineering support team. Constantly looking to better yourself you will actively seek out training both formal and informal whilst providing training to customers over various different customer sites in the UK.

Required Skills: -
-Experience in a customer facing service / support engineering role
-Experience with Automation systems, PLC's, Controls, Drives and servo-motors etc
-Experience with related communication protocols (i.e. modbus, profibus etc)
-Participated in Factory and Site acceptance testing
-Flexible to your working location
-Must have a strong varied technical engineering background

Minimum requirements: -
-Apprentice trained Electrical engineer, ideally HNC or above as well
-Worked in various process driven manufacturing environments
-Minimum of 5 years Automation industry experience on a variety of PLC's, Servo-motors, drives, control systems etc
-Experience with related communication protocols (i.e. modbus, profibus etc)
-Ideally Participated in Factory and Site acceptance testing
-Extensive experience with direct customer contact, i.e. field service engineer on sites
-Engineering experience in a range of industries would be advantageous for you to cope
-Full UK driving license
