I have a faulty Pilz PSS CPU3 (intermittently shows F-31 error) and I would like to know if I can disassembly the unit to look for defects (like bad caps and so on; it is some 14 years old). It will be soon replaced with a new unit, but until that arrives I would like to tinker with it a little bit. Do you guys know if the internal software will be lost if separated from its power supply? Or the software is non-volatile, and I would only lose the defect history? Please advise!
