Hello friends, I really do not speak English well so we will use Google translator to make my query.

First, thank you very much for your work and what you shared. It really has helped me a lot.

Now the question.

I have to communicate allen bradley Logix5581E, I have Studio 5000 v29 but I need an Rslinx to use it as an opc server, but the one that comes with the installation is the lite version and that version does not do what I need.

Is there a way to activate the server to use the optional server or with some type of activation?

Please dont use RSLinx OPC. Its the worst OPC server ever made. Use Kepware or Matrikon

I first have to ask if you have all that much experience in numeroase DCS and PLC platforms to make such an assumption. Secondly, your experience with third-party HMIs must be extremely limited also.

RSLinx Gateway is the preferred OPC for all Rockwell products....period! Now, if you are using Honeywell, DeltaV, ABB, Yokogawa, and need a third-party HMI, I'd recommend Matrikon so as to ease the configuration of DCOM. Matrikon is for novices so that they don't have to learn DCOM and proper configurations. It's similar to the use of TeamViewer vs RDS.

When giving advice, or asking advice, it's best to know what systems you'll be using (AB, DeltaV, Honeywell, etc.) and the HMI (Wonderware, iFix, ClearScada, RedLion, etc.) before asking or handing out advice.

Stimken is right..
I suppose you did not work with AB OPC..!!!
Otherwise you do not put a theory that has nothing to do with AB OPC..
Stimken is right..
Use everything else than this Ab OPC..!!!

Please do not post unless you know what you are talking about! AB OPC works flawlesly with Wonderware, ClearScada, or any other HMI. I have set up several with 50k + tags. Don't ever question my experience.
