Does this actually exist?
What would be the most convenient solution for recording values from the OPC server and later write them back for simulation/training purpose?
ps.Moderators: feel free to move this post if posted in wrong category. |

To get data from the opc server is not a big issue. Kepware does actually have a built-in datalogger for this purpose.
My problem is to get the data back to the OPC in the same order as they where logged. |

Microsoft Excel is a powerful tool for data analysis and reporting. The Process IT Development Excel OPC Server is a combined OPC Server and OPC Client, designed to serve data from Excel spreadsheets.
use Excel OPC Server from
http://www.procdev.com/excelopcsvr.asp
You can read write to OPC
OPC DA 3.0 Server
The OPC Server supports reading and writing of Excel data. There is a one-to-one mapping between an OPC item and an Excel Sheet/Cell.
Macro Execution
The OPC server can be configured to run macros defined in the Excel spreadsheet on a regular basis.
Built-In OPC Client
The calculations performed in a spreadsheet will often use live process data from the plant. The built-in OPC client allows for very efficient updating of cells in the spreadsheet from OPC data residing in DCS or SCADA system.
That means you can use OPC to read on Excel as logging data and write to OPC what you need when you need. |
