US engineer Edward Aloysius Murphy Jr. entered history almost 70 years ago when he launched the first and only law that bears his name.
Engineer at the United States Air Force Institute of Technology, Ed Murphy was working in 1949 at the Edwards Air Force in Murdoc, California on a missile launcher project. Annoyed by the poor operation of a transmission belt, Murphy exclaimed referring to the technician who mistakenly joined the tape heads:
"If there is any possibility of doing it badly, it will do!"
("If there is any way to do it wrong, he will ")
Murphy's law was rapidly spread and became famous all over the world, and a number of other" laws "were added over time, forming the so-called murphology.
1. To be popular, give people good news about their bad habits.
2. If an experiment succeeds first, it means something has not done well.
3. Every solved problem generates (at least) an unresolved problem.
4. Stealing ideas from someone is plagiarized. Stealing them from more is research.
5. If it's green and shakes, it's biology. If it smells bad, it's chemistry. If it does not work, it's physical. If it's incomprehensible, it's math. If it does not make sense, it's either economics or psychology.
6. Never go through an institution without holding paper in your hand.
7. The more boring and obsolete the magazines in the waiting room, the more you have to wait for the consultation.
8. There are two kinds of leucoplast: the one that does not stick and the one that does not relax.
9. The only time the boss goes through your office is when you sit comfortably and relax. |
