6ES7953-8LG11-0AA0
For all users if your MMC is formatted then go to step B
A. If you wish to delete a password-protected MMC, proceed as follows.
Slot the MMC in the programming device (PG) or in the SIMATIC USB prommer on your laptop/PC.
In the SIMATIC Manager select "File".
Select "S7 Memory Card" ==> "Delete..."

B. With S7-300 CPUs (except CPU 318), the function "Reset in the as-delivered status" is implemented as of firmware version V2.5.

Procedure
Proceed as follows in order to reset a CPU to the delivery state via the mode selector switch:
Switch off the supply voltage.
Remove the SIMATIC Micro Memory Card from the CPU.
Hold the mode selector switch in the MRES setting and switch the supply voltage on again.
Wait until LED lamp image 1 from the subsequent overview is displayed.
Release the mode selector switch, set it back to MRES within 3 seconds and hold it in this position.
Wait until LED lamp image 2 from the next overview is displayed.
This lamp image lights up for approximately five seconds, that is for the duration of RESET. During this period you can abort the resetting procedure by releasing the mode selector switch.
Wait until LED lamp image 3 from the subsequent overview is displayed and release the mode selector switch again.
The CPU is now reset to the delivery state. It starts without buffering (all LEDs are lit) and changes to the STOP mode.

MMC
It is only possible to reset the MMC if it contains data* that is invalid for the CPU. Otherwise the MMC is only initialized by the procedure described.
All the user data is deleted when you reset the SIMATIC Micro Memory Card (MMC).
Proceed as follows.
The MMC is slotted in the bay of the CPU. The CPU requests an overall reset (slow blinking of the STOP LED).
Set the switch to "MRES" and hold it there until the STOP LED lights continuously (approx. 9 seconds).
Within the next 3 seconds, you must let the switch go and set it again to "MRES". The STOP LED now blinks during the delete procedure.
If the CPU continues to request an overall reset after the procedure described above, then the MMC is defective
In the chapter entitled Reset in the as-delivered status of the operating instructions "S7-300 CPU 31xC and CPU 31x: Setting up" you will find all the information on the effect of and procedure for "Resetting in the as-delivered status".
https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/attachments/13008499/s7300_cpu_31xc_and_cpu_31x_operating_instructions_en-US_en-US.pdf
Note on firmware V3.2 and V3.3
With these firmware versions you cannot reset the MMC with the CPU. In this case you need either a Field PG or a USB prommer to reset the MMC. Information about this is available in
https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/document/13992345/how-do-you-delete-the-data-on-an-mmc- (micro-memory-card)
This behavior will be cleared with the next version of the firmware.

How to write to or delete (reset) a SIMATIC MMC outside an S7-300 CPU is described in
https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/document/21829579/which-devices-can-you-use-to-read-from-write-to-or-delete-from-an-s7-300-mmc- (micro-memory-card)-outside-the-cpu

Hope it helps..

Hi I desperately need you help. I need an image file in S7image V2 if you have

Here are the following steps that I did that lead to this mess.

1. I used Tia V15 and warning message says my CPU firmware is not the latest. The PLC CPU is Simantic S7-300. The current version is 2.01 and I believe the latest is 2.6.11. Because of version 2.01 I can not do the firmware update online. It needs to copy to the SD card.
2. For some reason I misread the instruction and ejected the SD came with the CPU and insert into SD card reader from my PC. It popped up a message asking for format. I compus it in NTFS and copied all the files extracted from the download file to the formatted SD.
3. After that nothing not working anymore.
4. I start dig around and found the instruction to use the S7imgrd2 and s7imgwr2. I was able to read the content on the card but unable to write the backup back to the card. It was reading successfully and generate two backup files. One with extension S7img and one with S7img_t. When I tried to write it back to the card using S7imgwr2 tool I keep getting error message which I enclosed. You can also find 2 backup file from my share drive link below
5. I also tried to use the other method WinHex but unable to write a backup image found online to the card. The reason is because the actual size of SD card is a bit smaller than the backup size. The instruction provided is formatting the SD in FAT with 512 block. I did that but somehow the final size is only 31296 and backup image is 31360. I'm not sure how to extend the memory size to 31360? It is shorted by 64 bytes

I did a lot of search on internet but could not find a solution to fix this. I would like to thank in advance for your help.

Regards,
Alan
