The Machine Template is a TIA Portal project for the machine builders to implement a modular automation program. The Machine Template provides the basic usability with a standardized interface to control the machine and display the status, not only with local HMI but also with higher level IT systems.
The ISA-88 model is an important foundation for the modular programming structure of production machines. The Machine Template based on ISA-88 covers the physical tip from the unit level through the equipment module to the control module level, as these are the essential components of a PLC controlled production machine.
